IJBC arranges Osaka University students industrial visit
2015-09-01

Osaka University's students are undergoing an intensive Hindi language training at TMV Pune for about a month. Their program is such designed that they are introduced to our culture apart from language learning. In this connection their group co-ordinator Mr. Shrikant Atre who is also a committee member of IJBC, requested the IJBC committee that we should introduce these students to our business culture.

Thanks to IJBC President Mr. Hatkar's contacts in the industry around Pune, a visit was immediately arranged at GKN sintered metals Ltd, part of a multi-billion dollar group GKN Plc at their Pimpari plant on 28th Aug 2015.

The Japanese students were introduced to the sintering / hardening / machining processes by GKN plant engineers. The students were awed to know that Toyota, their single largest customer was also visiting the same factory same day and that Toyota has given a number of awards in past to this plant. The plant MD Mr. Nighojkar and his team was also happy to explain about his plant's activities to Japanese students in Hindi language, something which even they did not do so far.

IJBC president Mr. Hatkar commented that 'if Japanese students have to learn Hindi, their obvious focus will be working in India and if so, Pune and Pune's industry should welcome all of them from view point of possible employees.'
